Freshman Rhamel Brown has joined Beamon as one of the most consistent Jaspers as of late. Brown's intensity on both ends of the court have made him one of the top rookies in the MAAC. His 8.5 rebounds per contest rank third overall in the conference. The 6'6" 215-pound forward from Brooklyn tops the conference with 48 blocks (2.5 per game) and 4.6 offensive rebounds. Offensively, Brown continues to develop and has scored in double-figures in four of the last six contests, including a career-high 20 point explosion on Jan. 7 against Loyola. Brown leads the team with a 48.2% field goal mark.
Demetrius Jemison has joined Brown in the blocks for the last 11 games since receiving an NCAA graduate transfer waiver on Dec. 10. The 6'8" Birmingham, Ala. native has not missed a start during this stretch and he has averaged 10.4 points and 8.2 rebounds.
Freshman point guard Michael Alvarado is working his way back into game flow since missing nearly two weeks in early January with an injury.
