Manhattan (13-12, 8-6 MAAC) plays its final road game of the 2009-10 this evening against Siena (8-15, 6-8 MAAC). The Lady Jaspers, who currently sit tied for third place in the MAAC, saw their three-game winning streak with a 55-44 loss at first-place Marist on Monday night. The Saints have dropped two straight, including a 51-50 decision against Fairfield on Monday. Manhattan posted a 74-53 victory when the teams met at Draddy Gymnasium on Feb. 5.

The Lady Jaspers (13-12, 8-6 MAAC) saw their season-long three-game winning streak come to an end with a 55-44 loss at Marist on Monday night. Manhattan, which concludes its road schedule tonight, currently sits tied for third place in the MAAC. Sophomore forward Lindsey Loutsenhizer is the current MAAC Player of the Week. She leads the Lady Jaspers in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. In MAAC games, Loutsenhizer is averaging 17.2 points per game, the second-highest total in the league. Senior guard Michelle Pacheco averages 14.9 points per game and distributes a MAAC-leading 5.0 assists per game. Pacheco ranks second in the MAAC in steals (3.0 spg). Sophomore forward Nadia Peters ranks second in the MAAC in blocks (1.6 bpg), and junior guard Abby Wentworth averages 2.5 steals per game. The Lady Jaspers end the regular season with three straight home games.

Siena (8-15, 6-8 MAAC) concludes a four-game homestand, and wraps up its home schedule, tonight. The Saints have dropped two straight, including a 51-50 loss to Fairfield on Monday night. Siena has lost five of its last six games to drop into a three-way tie for sixth place in the MAAC. Junior forward Serena Moore paces the Saints in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. Moore also ranks second on the team in both blocks (1.3 bpg) and steals (1.1 spg). Senior guard Allie Lindemann averages 11.7 points per game and is shooting .400 from three-point range. Lindemann drains 2.4 three-pointers per game, which ranks second in the MAAC. Senior forward Sarah Fullmer ranks third on second in rebounding (6.4 rpg) and averages a team-best 1.5 blocks per game. Senior guard Merrick Volpe leads the team with 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
MANHATTAN VS SIENA ALL-TIME
Manhattan knocked off the Saints 74-53 at Draddy Gymnasium on Feb. 5. That victory snapped Siena's two-game winning streak in the series. In last year's meeting at Siena, the Saints notched a 58-53 victory. The Lady Jaspers' last win in Loudonville was a 57-52 triumph on Dec. 7, 2007. This is the 48th all-time meeting between the schools. Siena holds a 30-17 series edge.
MARIST 55, MANHATTAN 44
First-place Marist used a 15-2 run late in the second half to pull away from the Lady Jaspers en route to a 55-44 victory at the McCann Center on Monday night. Manhattan built an early 9-3 advantage and led for much of the first half, but Marist rallied for five straight points to take the lead midway through the half and led 29-24 at intermission. The Lady Jaspers went on a 10-0 run early in the second half to go back in front before Marist came back to tie it at 40-40. However, the Red Foxes held Manhattan scoreless for the next five minutes to open up a 10-point lead. Michelle Pacheco and Lindsey Loutsenhizer combined for 33 of Manhattan's 44 points. Pacheco had a game-high 18 points, while Loutsenhizer notched 15 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
