The Jaspers' got off to a healthy start rallying for four runs in the top of the first. With the bases juiced,
Army responded in the bottom half of the inning with a pair of runs cutting its deficit to 4-2. Then in the fifth, the Black Knights capitalized on seven hits which resulted in five runs to gain the lead.
Kevin Nieto went 2-for-4 from the plate, and extended his consecutive game hit streak to 10.
The Black Knights put the game out of reach in the bottom of the eight when they added two more runs to the grand total.
Kevin McKague led the charge for Army with three RBIs going 2-for-4. Third baseman J.P. Polchinski and designated hitter Cole White were each 3-for-5 with two RBIs.
Freshman starter Kyle Waddell was granted the loss after allowing seven runs on 10 hits. Junior right-hander Tyler Anderegg notched the victory for the Black Knights. Anderegg held the Jaspers scoreless and notched four strikeouts over 2.2 innings of work.
