Women?s Swimming Earns Way Onto CSCAA Academic All-American List for 22nd Consecutive Semester

Women's Swim Team Tops Saint Peter?s, But Loses To Canisius In Tri-Dual Meet Held in Buffalo

Riverdale, N.Y. (November 8, 2008) ? In a tri-dual meet held this weekend in Buffalo, the Manhattan College women's swim team bested Saint Peter's College 66-34, but lost to host Canisius College 60-42. With the Saint Peter's win, the team's dual meet record moves to 5-3.

 

Lady Jasper freshman Bridget Latino was once again a standout, winning the 1000 meter freestyle in 11:20.53 and the 100 meter butterfly in 1:01.79. She also swam the anchor leg on the winning 200 meter relay team ? also comprised of Catherine Chan, Rebecca Schwartz and Kellie Monaco ? that won the race in 1:46.13.

 

Chan also grabbed a first place spot in the 50 freestyle, winning the race in 25.86, and was second in the 100 freestyle in 56.62.

 

Other good performances were turned in by Rebecca Schwartz, who took second in the 100 meter backstroke in 1:06.93 and the 200 medley relay team of Schwartz, Kayla Hutzler, Megan O”Keefe and Megan Goldrick which placed second in 2:00.79
