Riverdale, N.Y. ? Despite posting a team score that was one shot off their dual meet record set in the spring, the Manhattan College men's golf team was defeated by conference rival Saint Peter's 4-1 in a dual match played Tuesday afternoon in West Orange, N.J.
The day started well for the Jaspers as sophomore Thomas Romano, who shot a 72, defeated Saint Peter's Sean Fitzpatrick 2 and 1.
However, the Jaspers lost the next four matches. Manhattan sophomore Matt Baney, who shot a 77, was downed by Peacock Ray Ferrar 2 and 1; Jasper freshman Robert Kehoe, who posted an 80, lost to Saint Peter's Billy Sues 3 and 2; Jasper freshman Pat Bibaud, who posted a 76, lost 2 up to Peacok T.J. Sumignay; and Manhattan sophomore Robert Thompson, who shot a 82, lost to Saint Peter's Tyler Pang 5 and 4.
