Box Score

RIVERDALE, N.Y. ? The Manhattan College women's soccer team peppered Holy Cross (3-9) with a game-high 13 shots, but couldn't slip one past Crusaders' goalkeeper Jessica Stone who tallied nine saves in a 2-0 defeat of the Lady Jaspers this evening in Worchester, Mass. In the 40th minute, forward Lauren Wright sent a header into the back of the net marking her fourth goal of the season and game winner. With the loss, Manhattan falls to 4-5-1 overall.

Coming off her first career shutout on Saturday, Lady Jaspers' sophomore goalkeeper Alyssa Bachowski allowed both Holy Cross goals over 90 minutes of work between the pipes. Bachowski notched two saves.

At the 39:41 mark, Shelby Stand set up the Crusaders' scoring sequence, sending a corner kick into the box for Wright. Wright handled the pass, and directed a header past Bachowski. In the 62nd minute, Stand posted the insurance goal marking her fifth score of the season. She tracked down her own rebound in the box, and buried the second shot opportunity.

Manhattan outshot the Crusaders 13-9.

The Lady Jaspers return to action on Friday for their MAAC contest with Rider at Gaelic Park. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
