Riverdale, N.Y. ? In a back and forth match, the Manhattan College men's soccer team came out on top against MAAC rival Rider 3-2 in a game played at Lawrenceville, N.J.. Jasper senior Fernando Londono scored the game winner in the 74^th minute, heading a in a service from sophomore Matthew Gormley.

Gormley had gotten Manhattan on the board first in the game's 19th minute when he grabbed a ball from in close from Londono and banged it into the net.

But with about eight minutes to go in the first half, Rider evened the score at 1-1 when Sal Lubrano scored off an assist by Nico Tramatono.

The Jaspers struck quickly in the second half when freshman Deia Nassar scored his first collegiate goal, chipping the keeper from 12 yards out off an assist from junior Nicholas Patrikis.

But the Broncos tied the game again about 15 minutes later when Tramantono scored off an assist by Andrew Cotes. Fighting back, Manhattan scored nine minutes later, with Gormley serving a ball to Londono who headed the ball into the Rider net for what would prove to be the winning tally.

Manhattan outshot Rider on the day 12-11. Jasper senior goalkeeper John Ciano had three saves on the day. It was the Jaspers first conference win. The squad is now 3-12-1 on the season overall and 1-4-1 in conference play.

Manhattan is now off to Baltimore where they take on Loyola College of Maryland Sunday at 1 p.m.
