WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LOOKS FOR SWEEP AGAINST SIENA

Today's Game: The Lady Jaspers play their second game this season against the Siena College Saints. In their first meeting, Manhattan came away with a 57-52 victory in Loudonville behind Caitlin Flood's double-double performance. Flood scored 19 points while grabbing 11 boards and posting her first double-double of the season. This will mark the 44th time the teams will play each other. Siena holds the overall record as they are 28-15 against Manhattan in the program's history.

History Vs. Siena: The Lady Jaspers are 15-28 againt Siena. Recently, Manhattan beat the Saints 57-52 in their MAAC opener this season. The Lady Jaspers have won three of the last four contests against Siena. This will mark the 44th time the teams will meet in the programs history.

History vs. MAAC: The Lady J's have 191-203 record while playing MAAC opponents. Last season they lost a second round game to MAAC Champion Marist College, 55-42. Manhattan finished 7-11 last year in conference play and is currently 2-0 this season.

Record at Draddy: The Lady J's hold a 210-155 record while playing in their home gym.

Record on the road: The Lady J's hold a 182-280 record while playing road games.

MAAC Openers: Manhattan is 11-18 when opening their MAAC season. In their season opener on December 7, the Lady Jaspers defeated Siena College 57-52 and improved to 5-3 overall and 1-0 in the MAAC.

Awards: Senior Caitlin Flood was named MAAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending December 1. Flood averaged 22.5 points over her two games, including a 27 point performance that put her over the 1,000 career point mark. Flood also shot 65% on the week and went 17-18 from the free throw line.

"Four"some: Dellinger, Nwafili, Flood and Cottrell gained valuable experience as freshman, appearing in 25 games together. In the next two years the injury bug bit the quartet consistently as the four only appeard in 14 games as sophomores and just six when they were juniors. This season they have been healthy and that has equated to their success on the court as the Lady J's have improved to a 6-3 record.

On the Horizon: MAAC play continues as defending MAAC Champion and pre-season favorite Marist College comes to Riverdale on Sunday, January 13. Manhattan is looking to revenge their most recent loss to the Red Foxes as Marist beat the Lady Jaspers in the MAAC Championship Semi-Finals last year, 55-42. Senior forward Caitlin Flood still poses a problem for the Marsit Defense as she averaged 9.0 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game agains the Red Foxes last season.
