Riverdale, N.Y.(August 31) ? In its first match at the 4^th annual Jasper Invitational, Manhattan College lost to University of Arkansas-Little Rock, 3-0. 

 Sophomore Rita Welsh paced the Manhattan offense with a team high eight kills during the match.  She posted a team high .227 attack percentage.  The Trojan offense proved to be too strong as the Lady Jaspers could not counter the nine kills of Amila Barakovic.  Arkansas-Little Rock hit .321 as a team, including ..517 in the second game committing just one error.

The Lady J's look to rebound tomorrow in Day 2 of the Jasper Invitational as they take on the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore at 2:00 PM followed by a match against metro area rival Seton Hall University at 4:00 PM.
