Centre Valley, Pa. (April 14, 2007)?The Jaspers finished 16th out of 23 teams this weekend at the rain shortened Lafayette Invitational, held in Centre Valley, Pa. Originally scheduled to be a two-day event, only 18 holes were played on Saturday as the threat of inclement weather forced the cancellation of Sunday's round.
As a team, the Jaspers shot a combined 333 (+45), placing them ahead of the likes of Mt. Saint Mary's, La Salle University, and Wagner College. Sean Oroho was Manhattan's low scorer, shooting a 10-over par 82 to finish in a tie for 54th. Not far behind Oroho were George Calvi and James Marchewka who both shot an 11-over par 83, placing the two in a tie for 61st.
Other finishers for Manhattan were Nicholas LaBanca and Scott Burton, who carded a rounds of 85 (+13) and 88 (+16) respectively.
Charles Waddell was the low medalist of the event, shooting a two-under par 70. Lehigh University won the event with a combined score of 300 (+12).
The Jaspers return to action this Thursday against St. Peter's College in Old Sayreville, N.J.
