Drums, Pa. - The Manhattan golf team posted a ninth place finish at the Susquehanna University Invitational, held at the par 72, 6,721-yard Edgewood-In-Pines Golf Course. The Jaspers' team score of 320 was a season low for the linksmen.
George Calvi and
Scott Burton each paced the Manhattan effort with rounds of 79 to each place in a tie for 26th.
Nicholas LaBanca carded his best collegiate round, posting a score of 80 to place in a tie for 35th.
James Marchewka (82, T-45th) and
Chris Vieau (83 - T-52nd) rounded out the Manhattan competitors.
Chris Merce of Saint Peter's took home medalist honors, shooting a three-under par round of 69. Host Susquehanna earned the team title with a combined score of 294.
Manhattan gets back in action on Thursday, October 5, taking on Saint Peter's at the Rock Spring Country Club in West Orange, N.J.
