With Princeton holding a three point lead, 5-2, just over three minutes into the game, Manhattan used a 14-0 run over the next 6:45 to take a 16-5 lead, the Jaspers' largest lead of the night. Arturo Dubois and Guy Ngarndi each tallied four points in the run, while Devon Austin buried two three pointers. The Tigers responded with a 9-4 the rest of the half to go into the locker room trailing by six, 20-14. The 14 points allowed in the first half was the fewest for the Jaspers since they held Loyola to 17 first half points in the 2005 MAAC Tournament.
The teams traded baskets in the early going in the second half, until, with Manhattan holding a five point lead, 24-19, with 18:06 left in the game, Princeton found the hot shooting stroke, converting 8-11 field goals, including four-of-five from behind the arc, to put together a 22-10 run, taking a seven point lead, 41-34, with five minutes remaining.
Dubois posted game-highs with 14 points and six rebounds, as Manhattan went just 1-4 from the line, the fewest makes and attempts for the Jaspers since shooting 3-6 from the line against the University of Pennsylvania on December 29, 2003 in the Championship game of the MSG Holiday Festival.
