WOMEN'S LACROSSE SEASON ENDS WITH 18-2 LOSS TO MT. ST. MARY'S IN NCAA-PLAY-IN GAME

Emmitsburg, MD (May 6, 2005)- The women's lacrosse team ended their season today against NEC Champions Mt. Saint Mary's in Emmitsburg, MD in the NCAA Play-in-game, 18-2. The Lady Jaspers final overall record for the 2005 season is 9-8.

The Mountaineers took a 6-0 lead before senior Victoria Carman found junior Molly Pheterson inside the arc getting Manhattan on the board at the eight minute mark. Senior Mary Dudek scored under five minutes later narrowing Mt. Saint Mary's lead to four goals. With 2:35 left to play in the half the Mountaineers increased their lead by scoring three goals before the end of the half. Going into halftime the score was 9-2.

The Lady Jaspers were shutout by the Mountaineers in the second half. Mt. Saint Mary's scored its ninth goal of the half at the 7:05 mark, 18-2. The game remained scoreless for the rest of the half.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Devins finished the game with six saves while the Mountaineers goalie Naomi Campano Radio tallied eight.
