Fishkill, NY (May 27, 2005)- Niagara scored twice in the top of the ninth inning to eliminate Manhattan, 2-0, this afternoon at Dutchess Stadium at the 2005 Anaconda Sports MAAC Baseball Championships. The Jaspers end the season with a 27-21 record.

Manhattan put its leadoff runner on in the third and fifth innings, but both times, the runners were put out on double plays.

In the sixth, John Maser reached second with two outs, but the Jaspers were unable to push him across. Phil Kuhner reached second with two outs in the seventh, but Manhattan could not plate him.

Niagara plated both runs in the top of the ninth, as Mike Alati singled to left field with one out and came around to score on a Reed Eastley triple to right field. Eastley later scored on an RBI single.

Junior Chris Cody (7-4) went the distance for the Jaspers, allowing just the two runs, striking out eight and walking none.
