Orlando, FL (April 22, 2005)- Manhattan completed the first of three rounds of the 2005 jetBlue MAAC Golf Championships today at the par-72, 6861-yard Magnolia Golf Course at Walt Disney World. Tim Hand paced the Jaspers with an opening round score of 80, good for a tie for 27th. Manhattan is currently in eight place.

Other round one scores for the Jaspers came from Scott Burton (83, T34th), James Marchewka (85, T38th), George Calvi (87, T40th), and Danny Sirico (88, 43rd).

Chris Vieau, playing as a non-scoring individual, tallied a round of 77.

Manhattan's first round tally of 335 is seven strokes ahead of eighth place Saint Peter's. Loyola leads the pack after carding a one-under-par team score of 287.

The second round of the championship begins tomorrow morning at 6:52 a.m.
