Riverdale, NY (April 14, 2005)- The Manhattan women's lacrosse team beat the Iona Gaels this afternoon at Gaelic Park 13-7. Senior
Victoria Carman and junior
Molly Pheterson tallied four goals each. The Jaspers stay undefeated in the MAAC (3-0) and improve to a 4-5-0 overall record.
Senior
Mary Dudek gave Manhattan the lead :17 seconds into the first half on an unassisted goal. Iona's Katie Cavanaugh answered back at the 26:01 mark tying the game, 1-1. Two minutes later Pheterson found the back of the net giving Manhattan a one goal lead. The Lady J's scored five unassisted goals before Iona could get its second goal of the half at the 6:47 mark, 7-2.
With 4:02 remaining in the half, Dudek scored off a double assist by junior

Brenna Tinari lifting Manhattan by eight. The last goal of the half came at the 1:13 mark by Tinari who was assisted by senior
Jamie Carter.
The Gaels got off to a quick start in the second half scoring two goals in a minutes span getting Iona within five of the Lady Jaspers. Manhattan kept the pressure on finally scoring at the 10:47 mark after sophomore
Lauren Civardi scored off a rebound from one of her own shots, 10-4. Pheterson scored her fourth and final goal with 16:21 left in the second half.
Iona never stopped fighting scoring back to back goals by Jaclyn O'Leary and Chloe Koprucki decreasing the Jaspers lead to five. With 4:09 left in regulation junior

Victoria Carman found the back of the net again under a minute later giving Manhattan its 13th and final goal. Iona's Rachel O'Leary scored the last goal of the game with :23 remaining, 13-7.
Sophomore
Ashley Devins tallied nine saves today and Iona's Roxanne Monte recorded six. The Lady Jaspers outshot Iona 26-18.
The Lady Jaspers host two games this weekend at Gaelic Park. They start on Saturday, April 16 against Le Moyne and continue on Sunday, April 17 when they take on the Siena Saints. Both games are slated for 10 a.m.
