Baltimore, Md. (October 22, 2005)--For the second straight night Manhattan Volleyball defeated a conference foe on the road, while overshadowing milestones reached by opposing players. The Lady Jaspers got past Loyola College in four games (33-31, 26-30, 30-19, 30-25) at the Reitz Arena on Saturday night in Baltimore, Md. The win evens Manhattan's overall record at 13-13, while improving its MAAC record to 3-1.

Only 24 hours after the Lady J's stole the spotlight from Rider senior Stefanie Lombardo by pulling off a five-game victory on the night the senior recorded her 1,000th dig, Manhattan went into Loyola and knocked off the Greyhounds on a night when Loyola senior Becky Corb was honored in a pre-match ceremony for becoming the program's all-time kill leader.

Manhattan seniors Maggie Pfeifer and Megan O'Dorisio both recorded more kills than Corb's 13 on the night. Pfeifer pounded out 16 kills and hit a match-best .343, while O'Dorisio notched a match-high 17 kills to go with 11 digs for the double-double, her twelfth in the last 15 matches.

Loyola's Corb also managed to record a double-double as she dug up 22 attacks to go along with the 13 kills.

After the teams split the first two frames of the match the Lady Jaspers captured the ensuing two games in come-from-behind fashion. Down 11-5 in game three, Manhattan rattled off a crushing 16-1 run to take complete control of the game. The Lady J's trailed in the fourth game 16-14, before racking up five straight points to take a 19-16 lead en route to the win.

Manhattan sophomore Ashley Watson led the Lady J's with 21 digs, while senior libero Ashley Davis added 14.

Manhattan returns to action on Wednesday, October 26, as they host Fairleigh Dickinson University in a non-conference match at Draddy Gym.
