GOLF PLACES THIRD IN QUAD MEET

West Orange, N.J. (October 18, 2005)- The four Manhattan scorers finished in a tight grouping, all carding rounds within three strokes of each other, as the Jasper linksmen placed third in a Quad Match yesterday at the 6,500-yard, par-71 The Rock Spring Golf Club. Sean Oroho paced Manhattan, finishing in a tie for ninth after posting a round of 83.

Lafayette took home the team title with a team score of 318. Following the Leopards were FDU (329), Manhattan (339), and Saint Peter's (343). Lafayette's Chris Johnston and Saint Peter's Chris Merce tied for medalist honors, as each shot seven-over-par rounds of 78.

Other scorers for the Jaspers were Scott Burton and Peter Muller, who both placed in a tie for 12th after carding rounds of 85, and Adam Minbiole, who placed in a tie for 14th after putting up a score of 86.

AJ Balsinde placed in a tie for 19th with a round of 91, while Nick Mayo carded an 81, while playing as a non-scorer.

Manhattan returns to action this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, October 22-23, when the Jaspers compete in the St. Mary's Fall Classic in Littlestown, Pa.
