Princess Anne, Md. (October 1, 2005)--Outside hitters senior Megan O'Dorisio and sophomore Ashley Watson both posted double-doubles as Manhattan Volleyball won its second straight match at the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore Invitational outlasting Delaware State University in five games (30-20, 28-30, 27-30, 30-21, 15-11) on Saturday morning in Princess Anne, Md.

O'Dorisio recorded 22 kills and 20 digs for her fourth double-double in the last five contests, while fellow her Californian, Watson, finished with her first double-double of the year, notching 11 kills and 15 digs.

Manhattan did not trail by more than one for any part of the first frame en route to a 10-point win. The two teams traded scores throughout the second game until Delaware State's Kinga Muszynski sealed the two-point victory with one of her 10 kills on the day. The two squads were tied at 13 different instances of the second game.

With the match knotted at a game apiece, the Lady Jaspers dropped another close game to fall into a 2-1 hole. Ray Green's team, however, would not surrender, as a Whitney Judkins' kill in game four gave the Lady Jaspers a 9-8 lead, which they would not relinquish for the rest of the frame. With the fifth, and deciding, game deadlocked at seven, O'Dorisio pounded out two straight kills en route to the victory.

Senior middle hitter Maggie Pfeifer, who was last week's MAAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, posted 20 kills for the second consecutive match. The Missouri native put down 24 kills in last night's victory over host UMES. The 20 kills by Pfeifer and the 22 put up by O'Dorisio marked the first time this season that two Lady Jaspers finished with at least 20 kills each in the same match.

Senior libero Ashley Davis posted a Manhattan season-high 29 digs to lead the Lady J's in that defensive category for the second straight match.

Manhattan tries for a perfect 3-0 weekend, as they wrap up play at the UMES Invitational against Coppin State University today at 1:00 p.m.
