Serra Sangar scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Lady Jaspers, who fall to 7-9 and 3-4 in the MAAC with the loss.
The Lady Jaspers were held scoreless over the first 6:42 of the first half, in which St. Peter's (6-10, 2-5 MAAC) jumped out to a 12-0 lead. However, the Lady J's responded with a 7-0 run in what was a half of spurts. After Manhattan cut the lead to 14-10, St. Peter's went on a 12-4 run of its own. The Lady Jaspers then outscored the Peahens 8-4 to end the half and St. Peter's went into intermission with a 30-22 edge.
Manhattan scored the first six points of the second half, all while holding St. Peter's scoreless for the first five minutes, cutting the deficit to 30-28. The Peahens continued the string of runs, pulling off a 7-0 run of their own. St. Peter's held a 43-36 lead with 5:35 remaining, and that was as close as Manhattan would get the rest of the way.

Also in third place all-time at Manhattan in steals, Reed now has 352 assists during her career, 14 behind Sheila Tighe '84, currently in fourth place with 366 career helpers. Sandy Gordon '88 is the all-time leader at Manhattan with 572 career assists.
The Lady Jaspers return to action on Saturday, January 22, when they will conclude their road trip with a game at Marist. Tip-off is slated for 5:00 p.m.
