New Haven, CT (September 25, 2004)- In the final match of the Courtyard by Marriott at Yale Classic, Manhattan dropped a 3-0 decision to the host team by scores of 30-26, 30-25, 30-25. Earlier in the day, Manhattan swept Sacred Heart 3-0 (30-20, 30-18, 30-28) and went 2-1 during the weekend after defeating Wagner on Friday night. Junior middle hitter Maggie Pfeifer and freshman outside hitter Anna Lanyon both were named to the All-Tournament Team.

In the match against Sacred Heart, the Lady Jaspers hit for a .481 percentage in the second game and hit .337 for the match, led by Pfeifer, who had a match-high 13 kills while Lori Bambauer had 42 assists and Ashley Davis posted 17 digs to pace the Lady Jaspers.

Sacred Heart (1-13) was led by Heather Brooks, who posted eight kills with one error, while Brenda Bailey had seven kills and six digs.

Against Yale, Lanyon set a career-high with a team-leading 13 kills, while Davis again registered a team-high with 21 digs. Megan O'Dorisio also chipped in with 15 digs and nine kills.

The Elis (5-3) were paced by double-doubles from Jana Freeman (14 kills, 14 digs) and Shannon Farrell (12 kills and 13 digs). Meanwhile, Jacqueline Becker handed out 35 assists, nailed five service aces and had eight digs.

Manhattan's record now stands at 4-11. The Lady Jaspers will return to the court on Tuesday, September 28th against Fordham at Draddy Gymnasium. Game time is 6:00 p.m.
