Jersey City, NJ (February 7)- The Manhattan swimming team downed Saint Peter's, 103-73, in a MAAC Conference matchup at Saint Peter's. The Lady Jaspers won four of the 10 events, but displayed their depth in improving to 9-5 overall and 1-3 in MAAC competition. Freshman
Courtney Arduini broke the school record in the 200 fly with a time of 2:20.28.
Individual winners for Manhattan were
Sarah Szotak in the 50 free (26.71) and Arduini, who won the 100 breast, touching in with a time of 1:13.15. The Lady Jaspers also won two relays, as
Bethany Karbowski,
Rachele Testa, Arduini, and Szotak teamed up to win the 200 medley relay in a time of 2:04.76, and the quartet of Szotak,
Heather Kennedy,
Lauren Sullivan, and
Marisa Lowe won the 200 free relay in a time of 1:53.68.
Manhattan returns to the pool on Saturday, February 14, when the Lady Jaspers take on St. Joseph's NY at 2:00 p.m. A brief senior day ceremony will precede the meet.
