Raleigh, NC (December 5, 2004)- Despite game-highs of 18 points and 15 rebounds from freshman CJ Anderson, who recorded his first collegiate double-double, Manhattan fell at #13/#16 NC State, 76-60, today at the RBC Center. The Jaspers fall to 3-2 on the season.

The Jaspers scored the first four points of the game and raced out to a 7-2 lead with 17:34 to play in the first half. NC State responded by scoring eight of the next 11 points to pull even at 10-10, with 14:42 left in the opening stanza. Manhattan would not panic, and outscored the Wolfpack 15-8 over the next five minutes to open up its largest lead of the night, seven points, capped by a Kenny Minor three with 9:39 left to make the score 25-18 in favor of the Jaspers.

NC State would then go on a 17-0 run over the next six minutes to open up a 10 point lead, 35-25 with 3:46 left before Anderson stopped the run with a thunderous dunk. Manhattan would score the final three points of the hald to trail by just five, 35-30, at the break.

In the second half, the Jaspers and the Wolfpack would trade points over the first three minutes, as Manhattan kept with five, 39-34, with 17:13 left in the game. NC State pushed the lead to 10, 45-35, with 14:21 left, and would not let the lead drop below eight points the rest of the way, and took its largest lead of the game, 73-55, on a Engin Atsur three pointer with 19 seconds remaining.

Arturo Dubois (14 points, seven caroms) and Peter Mulligan (11 points) joined Anderson in double-figures. 11 of Anderson's 15 rebounds came on the offensive glass.

Julius Hodge led NC State with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists, all off the bench. Jordan Collins and Ilian Evtimov each scored 13 points, joining Hodge in double figures.

Manhattan returns to action on Thursday, December 9, when the Jaspers host Siena in a MAAC contest at Draddy Gym. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
