MEN PLACE THIRD, WOMEN 11TH AT CROSS COUNTRY IC4A/ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

Riverdale, NY (November 20, 2004)- The men's cross country team placed third and the women's team placed 11th at the IC4A/ECAC Championships, held today at Van Cortlandt Park. Tyler Raymond led the way for the men, placing second overall with a time of 25:25. Eryka Perreault paced the women with a 24th place finish in a time of 19:16.06.

The men's team tallied a team score of 102, behind only Stony Brook (1st-58 points) and Army (2nd-82 points), and ahead of all the MAAC schools that competed. Other Manhattan finshers over the 5 mile course were Todd Raymond (6th-25:45), Mike Foley (10th-26:09), Matt Reilly (17th-26:22), Juan Caceres (78th-27:50), and Kerry O'Brien (98th-28:26).

The women's team tallied a team score of 288, easily outdistancing the nearest MAAC competitor, Siena, who placed just one place, but 40 points behind the Lady Jaspers. Other Manhattan finishers ove the 5K course were Julie Lamiquiz (53rd-19:51.19), Rachel McGee (72nd-20:20.62), Ginine Lucarello (78th-20:29.76), Caryn Capalbo (84th-20:36.55), Marissa Olivieri (92nd-20:50.92), and Magdalena Raszewska (110th-21:35.47).
