Riverdale, NY (January 25, 2004) - With three players scoring over fifteen points, the Rider Broncs dropped Manhattan 71-59. Despite having four players scoring in double figures, the Lady Jaspers lost their second straight game, and fell to 8-9 overall and 4-4 in the MAAC. Senior
Rosalee Mason recorded 20 points, marking her fourth straight time to notch 20 points or higher. Mason added 11 rebounds to record her 11th double-double of the season.
The Lady Jaspers went into the half with a one point lead over the Broncs, with the score of 28-27. Manhattan trailed for most of the first half until Mason sunk a jumper at the 2:34 mark to give Manhattan the 26-24 lead. Rider led by as many as 10 during the half. Leanne Moore led the Broncs in the half with 11 points and five rebounds.
Rider jumped out to a 7-0 run in the beginning of the second half, giving them the 34-31 lead. With a Mason jumper at 17:25, Manhattan took the lead, 35-34, but with two free throws by Leanne Moore, Rider took the 36-35 lead and held the lead for the remainder of the game. Rider led by as many as 14 in the second half with a lead of 59-47. Manhattan would cut the lead to five with 1:28 left, 64-59, but that would be the closest the Lady Jaspers would get. Katie Hall knocked down three free throws in the final minute to preserve the victory and give Rider their fourth win of the season.

Donnette Reed tallied 12 points, four assists and five rebounds, and junior
Serra Sangar recorded 13 points, four steals, and four rebounds. Freshman
Danielle Cooper added 10 points and two steals in the loss.
For the Broncs (4-13, 2-6 MAAC), Leanne Moore led the way with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Jaspers will host two doubleheaders with the men's team next week, facing Canisius on Friday, January 30 at 5:30 pm, and Niagara on Sunday, February 1 at 1 pm
