LADY JASPERS' FALL TO DARTMOUTH 79-65

Hanover, NH (January 14, 2004) - The Big Green of Dartmouth shot 56.5 percent from the field propelling them over the Lady Jaspers by a score of 79-65. Despite having three players in double digits, the Lady Jaspers fall to 7-6 overall. In the loss, junior Serra Sangar tied her career high in points with 22.

Sparked by five three-point field goals, the Big Green went into the half with a four-point lead. Leading the way for Dartmouth was Jeannie Cullen who knocked down 12 points including three shots from beyond the arc. Manhattan was down by as many as 12 points before the Lady Jaspers went on a 12-4 run to close the half, making the score 33-29. For the Lady Jaspers, Sangar tallied 14 first half points.

Dartmouth mounted an 11-4 run in the middle of the second half, springing the Big Green to the 79-65 victory. Elise Morrison recorded 12-second half points, totaling 15 points for the game. With a Kristen Tracey three-pointer at the 1:14 mark, the Lady Jaspers pulled within seven, marking the closest Manhattan would get. Cullen tallied 20 points, including shooting 5-6 from the three point line, helping Dartmouth record their seventh victory of the season.

Senior Rosalee Mason recorded 18 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Kristen Tracey tallied a career high 11 points in the loss.

The Lady Jaspers will be back in action when they host Siena on Friday, January 16 at 7 pm. Manhattan will finish out the week hosting Fairfield at 1 pm in a double header with the men's basketball team.
