Rosalee Mason tallied a game-high 26 points leading the Lady Jaspers to a 61-57 victory over the Iona Gaels. Manhattan captures its fourth straight victory, improving their overall record to 7-5 and 3-2 in the MAAC.
With 11 first half points, Mason helped propel the Lady Jaspers to a 35-30 lead at the half. Manhattan had just five turnovers in the first half, six less than Iona with eleven.
The Lady Jaspers trailed for almost 13 minutes, until freshman
Kristen Tracey dropped a three pointer to pull ahead, 29-28. Manhattan held the lead for the remainder of the half, ending the half at 35-30.
The Lady Jaspers were in the lead for much of the second half until Michelle Fahy, who led the Gaels with 24 points in the game, knocked down a jumper, making the score 53-51. Manhattan recaptured the lead at the 5:24 mark, with a Mason jumper, giving Manhattan the 55-54 lead, the Lady Jaspers pulled away, taking the 61-57 victory.

Serra Sangar tallied 13 points and three rebounds, and junior
Donnette Reed added seven points and six assists in the win.
The Lady Jaspers head back into action on Wednesday when they head to Hanover, New Hampshire to face Ivy League member Dartmouth at 7 pm. Following the Dartmouth game, Manhattan will head back home to play Siena on Friday at 7 pm, and will then host Fairfield on Sunday at 1 pm, in a doubleheader with the men's basketball team playing at 4 pm against Fairfield.
