Philadelphia, PA (September 6, 20003)- The St. Joseph's University Hawks defeated the Manhattan College Jaspers, 3-0, today at Finnesey Field on the St. Joseph's campus. Three different Hawks tallied goals in the win.
St. Joseph's (2-1) got on the board late in the first half, scoring its first goal when Adam Petitt's (Whippany, NJ) crossing pass was misdirected by a Jasper defender into Manhattan's net at the 37:30 mark. The Hawks added two more goals in the second half, at the 47:07 and 59:27 marks, to hand the Jaspers their first defeat of the season.
Freshman
Collin Leaver (Encinitas, CA) made seven saves in net for the Jaspers to continue his strong rookie campaign. Kevin Dougher (Blue Bell, PA) stopped three shots for the Hawks.
Manhattan (1-1) will be back in action on Sunday, September 7, when the Jaspers take on Philadelphia University in a second round game in the Hawk Invitational in Philadelphia, PA. Game time is slated for 3:00 p.m.
