Villanova, PA (September 20, 2003) - In five sets, the Lady Jaspers knocked off Villonova, improving their record to 3-8 on the season. In Manhattan's second match of the Villanova Tournament the scores were 27-30, 30-22, 28-30, 30-28 and 15-11.
In the victory, senior tri-captain Luka Van Cauteren led the way for Manhattan with another triple-double, notching 20 kills, 25 assists and 14 digs. Freshman Lori Bambauer tallied an outstanding 34 assists with 8 digs. Sophomore Maggie Pfeifer recorded 21 kills with a .526 hitting percenatage, to help the Lady Jaspers record their first win of the Villanova Tournament.
Leading the way for the wildcats was Kerri Sullivan notching 31 kills with a .343 hitting percentage. Erin Birunas added 19 kills and 10 digs in the loss
The Lady Jaspers return to action at 5 pm today for the last match of the Villanova Tournament against Pennsylvania.
