Lewisburg, PA (September 13, 2003)- The Manhattan College golf team finished in a tie for 16th in its season opening tournament, the Bucknell Invitational. Martin Tobias (Yonkers, NY) paced the Jaspers with a two day total of 156 (80-76).
In a rain soaked event that saw several stoppages due to inclement weather, the Jaspers placed ahead of both Colgate University and Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Other Manhattan finishers were
Danny Sirico (Hawthorne, NY) who placed in a tie for 56th with a total score of 158 (72-86).
Tim Hand (Yonkers, NY) placed in a tie for 63rd, shooting 161 (78-83), while
Corey Barringer (Schenectady, NY) posted a score of 173 (86-87), placing 92nd.
Patrick Rizzotti (Floral Park, NY), who did not complete his first round due to injury, was able to compete on day two and posted a five-over-par round of 75.
