Orono, ME (September 13, 2003)-Maine's Kevin Forgett (Wilmington, MA) scored just 1:56 into the game, and the Black Bears (3-2-0) hung on for the 1-0 victory over Manhattan College (1-3-0) today in Orono.
Forgett tallied the game's only goal off a feed from Gabriel Germano (Sainte Foy, Quebec) as he broke in alone on Jasper goalkeeper
Collin Leaver (Encinitas, CA).
Leaver was impressive again in net for Manhattan, stopping 10 shots to raise his total on the season to 32. Chad Mongeon (Essex Junction, VT) made one save for Maine to record his first shutout of the season.
The Black Bears outshot the Jaspers by a 24-12 count.
Justin Schultz (Sussex, NJ) led Manhattan with three shots.
Manhattan will back in action next Saturday, September 20, when the Jaspers travel to Hartwick College for a 5:30 p.m. kickoff.
