Princeton, NJ (September 13, 2003)- The Manhattan women's cross country team placed fourth behind Princeton, La Salle, and Rutgers at the Battlefield Invitational, held at the historic Princeton Battlefield. The Lady Jaspers were close to third place losing to the Rutgers by only one point.
Therese Forsberg (Ostervala, Sweden) led Manhattan with a time of 18:23.12 placing her twelfth in the Invitational. Shortly after came Manhattan's Maris Rego (New City, NY) with a time of 19:11.76. Twenty seconds later teammate Linn Modin (Borgholm, Sweden) crossed the finish line. Right behind Modin came Michelle Jones (Ballston Spa, NY) finishing with the time of 19:39.29.
The Jaspers will be competing at the Metropolitan Championships on Friday, October 3 at 2:30p.m. at Van Cortandt Park.
