VOLLEYBALL HAS 15-GAME WINNING STREAK SNAPPED BY LOYOLA

Baltimore, MD (November 9, 2003) - The Lady Jaspers fell to Loyola 3-2, dropping their last MAAC game of the regular season, and snapping their 15-game winning streak. Despite the loss, Manhattan finishes the MAAC season with an 8-1 record clinching them their second consecutive MAAC regular season championship.

Each match was decided by five points or less, Loyola defeated Manhattan with the scores of 30-32, 31-29, 25-30, 30-28, 14-16. Senior tri-captain Luka Van Cauteren led the way for the Lady Jaspers, recording 32 kills, 27 assists with a .306 hitting percentage. Sophomore Maggie Pfeifer added 21 kills with a .513 hitting percentage.

The Greyhounds (5-24, 3-6 MAAC), were led by Susanna Leffers who tallied 20 kills, 10 digs with a .211 hitting percentage. Katie Pruitt added 14 kills, 7 digs and .289 hitting percentage, in the win.

Manhattan will head back home for its last regular season game of the season against St. Francis (NY), on Wednesday at 6 pm.
