Lawerenceville, NJ (November 8, 2003) - The Lady Jaspers captured their eighth conference win of the year by defeating MAAC rival, Rider 3-1. With the win, Manhattan extends its winning streak to 15, improving their record to 18-10 overall and 8-0 in the MAAC. Manhattan with the victory also holds a 16 game conference-winning streak. Senior tri-captain Luka Van Cauteren recorded a triple-double with 29 kills, 19 assists and 11 digs with a .267 hitting percentage helping the Lady Jaspers drop the Rider Broncs.
Senior tri-captain Krista Thorsen recorded 9 kills, 2 service aces, and 17 digs, while sophomore Lauren Bambauer added 28 assists, 1 service ace and 9 digs, in the win. Sophomore Maggie Pfeifer posted a .522 hitting percentage, recording 13 kills.
The Broncs (10-17, 0-8 MAAC), were led by Stefanie Lombardo who tallied 10 kills, 10 digs and 3 block assists. Jaclyn Levi added 9 kills and 15 digs, in the loss.
Manhattan will be back in action tomorrow when they head to Baltimore, MD to face MAAC rival Loyola (MD) at 12 pm.
