Boca Raton, FL (November 28, 2003) - The Lady Jaspers knocked out Middle Tennessee, to advance to the Florida Atlantic Tournament finals, by a score of 70-65. With the win, Manhattan improves to 2-0 on the season. The Lady Jaspers will face the winner of tonight's second game of the tournament, host, Florida Atlantic vs. Norfolk State. The Lady Jaspers were led by senior forward,
Rosalee Mason who posted a double-double with a game high 16 rebounds, and 11 points, along with four steals.
The game started as a back and forth affair until Manhattan took the lead at 13-10 on a
Nikoletta Deutsch three-pointer, starting an 11-2 run. The Lady Raiders countered with a run of their own, capturing the lead at 27-26, after a 15-5 run. Middle Tennessee held off the Lady Jaspers for the remainder of the first half, and went into the half with the lead, 35-32.
The Lady Raiders jumped out to a 5-0 run to start the second half, leading 40-32. Deutsch soon countered, and knocked down a pivotal three pointer, which gave Manhattan the lead at 53-51. Manhattan then kicked off an 11-3 run, and did not trail for the remainder of the game, capturing the 70-65 victory.

Nikoletta Deutsch knocked down four three-pointers, in a career high 17 point effort, adding three steals. Junior
Donnette Reed recorded 14 points, six assists and five steals and junior
Serra Sangar chipped in with 13 points and five rebounds.
The Lady Raiders (2-1) were led by Patrice Holmes who posted a double-double with a game-high 18 points, along with ten rebounds and six steals. Krystle Horton also posted 16 points and six rebounds.
Manhattan will be back in action tomorrow night for the final round of the Florida Atlantic Tournament against either Norfolk State or Florida Atlantic, at 7 pm.
