Bronxville, NY (November 13, 2003)- The Manhattan College women's swimming team evened their record at 3-3 with a 131-108 win over Sarah Lawrence. Freshman
Courtney Arduini broke another school record, her seventh of the young season, touching in with a time of 34.05 in the 50 breaststroke.
Freshman
Sarah Szotak also had a fine meet, winning both the 100 free (1:00.77) and 100 fly (1:09.23). She also was a part of two victorious relays, the 200 medley relay (2:05.64), which consisted of
Marisa Lowe, Arduini,
Bethany Karbowski, and Szotak, and the 200 free relay (1:51.70), which consisted of Szotak,
Marisa Lowe, Karbowski, and Arduini.
The Lady Jaspers won 13 of the 14 events, with
Heather Kennedy winning the 500 freestyle in a time of 6:02.23,
Rachele Testa placing first in the 200 individual medley in a time of 2:32.42, as well as the 100 individual medley (1:11.34) and the 100 breaststroke (1:20.05),
Sara Lowe winning the 50 backstroke with a time of 34.34, Arduini winning the 50 backstroke in school record time, as well as the 100 backstroke (1:03.68),
Marisa Lowe touching first in the 50 freestyle (28.26), and
Kim DelGrosso placing first in the 50 butterfly (32.96).
The swim team returns to action on Friday, November 14 at 6:00 p.m., when the Lady Jaspers host the College of New Rochelle at Sarah Lawrence.
