Riverdale, NY (November 12, 2003) - The Lady Jaspers defeated St. Francis (NY) to take their last match of the season, improving to 19-11 overall. Manhattan knocked the Terriers in three games with the scores of 30-18, 30-23, and 30-26. Senior tri-captain Luka Van Cauteren led the way with 15 kills, 12 assists and a .333 hitting percentage.
Sophomore Maggie Pfeifer tallied 10 kills, 3 service aces with a .562 hitting percentage. Before today's game, with a .379 hitting percentage on the season, Pfeifer was ranked 24th in the nation. Junior Helena Ward added 7 kills with a .357 hitting percentage. The Lady Jaspers finish the regular season with 19 wins, which ranks this years team fourth in Manhattan volleyball history in wins in a season.
Manhattan, the top seed in the MAAC tournament coming up this weekend, will take on the number four seed team, Fairfield on Saturday at 2 pm.
