Hempstead, NY (October 19, 2003)- The Manhattan College golf team placed 13th at the Hoftra Invitational, played on the Red Course at Bethpage State Park.
Jay Wiederlight posted the best score for the Jaspers, placing in a tie for 43rd after putting up a (79-80) 159 over the 6,868-yard, par 70 course.
Other scorers for Manhattan, which posted a two-day team score of 647 (313-334), were
Tim Hand (T-47th, 81-79-160),
George Calvi (62nd, 76-91-167), and
Danny Sirico (T-63rd, 84-84-168).
Marty Tobias, who shot a 77 on day one, did not compete in day two in order to take the teaching boards.
The Jaspers compete again on Tuesday, October 21, when they take on St. Peter's at 1:30 p.m.
