Riverdale, NY (October 11, 2003) - The Lady Jaspers hosted their third home game of the season today, and defeated MAAC rival Niagara in three straight games (30-15, 30-19, 30-17). Senior tri-captain Luka Van Cauteren led the way for the Lady Jaspers notching a double-double with 12 kills and 23 assists, along with a .588 hitting percentage. With the win, Manhattan improves to 2-0 in the conference and 7-10 overall.

Manhattan did not trail in any set, recording a 15-4 run in the middle of the first game, finishing the second game on a 9-4 run and in the third game opening on a 10-3 run.

Senior tri-capatin Krista Thorsen for the Lady Jaspers tallied 6 kills, 7 service aces, 9 digs with a .267 hitting percentage, and sophomore Maggie Pfeifer recorded 9 kills with an impressive .692 hitting percentage. Sophomore Megan O'Dorisio added 8 kills and 3 digs in the victory.

For the Purple Eagles, Erin Graham recorded 5 kills and 4 digs, and Michelle LeSouder tallied 8 kills and 3 digs in the loss.

The Lady Jaspers head back into action tomorrow hosting MAAC foe Canisius at 11 am.
