Riverhead, NY (October 10, 2003)- The Manhattan College Golf team took home the title at the Manhattan Fall Invitational, defeating Fairleigh Dickinson by seven strokes, 335-342. FDU's John Flanagan took home medalist honors, posting a score of 80.
The Jaspers were paced by
Tim Hand (42-40) and
Jay Wiederlight (42-40), who both put up a score of 82.
Danny Sirico (41-44-85) and
Corey Barringer (41-45-86) rounded out the scoring foursome for Manhattan.
Flanagan's (40-40) 80 paced the Knights, who received scores of 81 from Doug Foley (41-40), 84 from Constantino Pagonis (39-45), and 97 from Dominic Carbone (48-49) to tally a team score of 342.
Other scorers for Manhattan were
George Calvi (49-44-93),
Michael Goll (49-49-98), and
Michael Judge (47-57-104).
The Jaspers are back in action this Sunday and Monday, October 12-13, when they compete in the Don Mershon Invitational, hosted by Lehigh University.
